Seqens Lahr is taking part in a company race

In mid-July, more than 130 companies and more than 1,800 runners gathered for the first company race in Lahr at the Landesgartenschau site. Seqens Lahr was represented by 27 participants.

Service managers, human resources employees, chemists, engineers, laboratory technicians, production operators, maintenance technicians, apprentices and, of course, the site manager, Thomas Rieck, actively participated. Some colleagues came directly after work and wore a T-shirt in Seqens’ colours for the occasion. In a good mood and by capturing this moment in pictures, the group was ready to face the 5km. Before the start, the most experienced ones were in a hurry at the front, while the others were quietly positioning themselves in the peloton.

Once the start was launched, the riders followed the course that began with Seepark. Then they headed towards the Bürgerpark, made a loop over the Ortenaubrücke until they reached the Seepark am See. Throughout the race, many enthusiastic colleagues and spectators encouraged the riders to give their best.

Some Seqens colleagues invited themselves into the final sprint, the rest of the team followed little by little. The finishers were awarded a medal and a well-deserved (alcohol-free) beer. The evening ended with local specialities and concluded this event, which was well received by all.

In the end, everyone agreed: we will come back next year!
