It is used in the production of the glutaric acid based family of pharmaceuticals, and a variety of pesticide products. A raw material in the manufacture of flavours. Used in the production of polymers, particularly modified unsaturated linear (epoxy) polyesters with positive effects on cure speed and reactivity. Has found application in improvement of electrode/electrolyte interfaces in High-Voltage Spinel Lithium-Ion batteries as an electrolyte additive.
