CSR strategy
Our four CSR pillars
CSR OBJECTIVES
At SEQENS, our CSR objectives reflect our commitment to addressing environmental, social and ethical issues, with the aim of contributing to sustainable development.

Environmental objectives
We have set clear environmental targets for CO2 emissions, energy consumption, water and waste management:
- Reduce CO2 emissions by -46.2% on scopes 1+2 between 2021 and 2031 (targets validated by SBTi)
- Reduce CO2 emissions by -27.5% on scope 3 between 2021 and 2031 (targets validated by SBTi)
- Reduce energy consumption per tonne of product manufactured by -10% between 2021 and 2025
- Achieve 50% renewable and recovered energy by 2025
- Reduce water consumption per tonne of product manufactured by 20% between 2021 and 2025
- Reduce hazardous waste per tonne of product manufactured, particularly solvents consumed, and increase the percentage of waste recovered (recycling and incineration with energy recovery) by 2025
Social objectives
We have set social objectives aimed at improving health and safety, quality of life and working conditions, training and diversity:
- Reduce the workplace accident frequency rate by 2 by 2036
- Measure quality of life and working conditions via an annual survey and continuously improve the results obtained
- Achieve or exceed a score of 90/100 on the gender equality index by 2025
- Train at least 70% of our employees each year to foster their professional development
Ethical and compliance objectives
We have defined ethical and compliance objectives aimed at strengthening business management, responsible purchasing and CSR transparency:
- Each year, ensure that everyone exposed to corruption risks is trained in our code of ethics.
- Evaluate the CSR performance of 60% of our purchases by 2025.
- Guarantee total transparency of our CSR performance by achieving Platinum or Gold status for 90% of our sites in the Ecovadis assessment.
Product objectives
We have defined a dual objective for our products:
- Ensure their safety and quality at every stage of their life cycle.
- Develop a portfolio of sustainable products by integrating CSR criteria into their design. This means taking into account their environmental, social and ethical impact right from the development phase. In addition, we aim to increase the proportion of sustainable products in our offering, thus actively contributing to the transition towards more responsible, environmentally-friendly solutions.
Our certifications

ISO 14001
ISO 14001 is the most widely used of the ISO 14000 series of environmental management standards.
ISO 50001
The ISO 50001 standard establishes an international framework to help organizations set up an energy management system to reduce their impact on the climate.
ISO 45001
ISO 45001 specifies the requirements to be met by an occupational health and safety (OHS) management system.
CSR ratings
Our commitments and achievements in terms of sustainable development are assessed by various independent bodies through CSR ratings. These external assessments recognize the soundness of our approach and testify to our concrete commitment to sustainable development.

Ecovadis
Since 2016, we have had the CSR performance of our Group, industrial and R&D sites proactively assessed by Ecovadis. We have improved our EcoVadis scores by more than 30 points on average, and the majority of our sites have been awarded Platinum status. This distinction places us in the top 1% of the world’s best-rated companies, out of more than 150,000 evaluated.
Ecovadis is one of the world’s leading CSR rating platforms. Companies’ CSR actions and practices are assessed in four areas: environment, ethics, labor and human rights, and responsible purchasing.

CDP
In 2024, we received a “B” rating from the CDP, recognizing our commitment to climate and water management. For the second year running, we also received an “A” rating for our emissions reduction initiatives and low-carbon products. This score reflects our commitment to reporting on our actions and progress in improving our environmental performance.
The Carbon Disclosure Project is a global non-profit organization recognized as a benchmark for corporate environmental transparency. This assessment measures our performance in the fight against climate change, water management and forest preservation.

PSCI
The Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Initiative (PSCI) is a collaborative initiative bringing together key players in the pharmaceutical industry to promote responsible practices in the fields of ethics, labor, health, safety and the environment.
PSCI relies on a shared audit process, carried out by independent auditors recognized by all its members. A single audit can thus meet the expectations of several customers.
Auditing our sites to PSCI standards demonstrates our commitment to responsible production in line with industry requirements. For our customers, it’s a guarantee of transparency, reliability and respect for best practices.
Our contribution to the SDGs
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of 17 global objectives defined by the United Nations and form a universal agenda for sustainable development. We are focusing our efforts on the SDGs most relevant to our business, and have integrated them into our CSR strategy.
