SEQENS Welcomes EU Anti-Dumping Investigation on Acetylsalicylic Acid
The European Commission has initiated an anti-dumping investigation into imports of acetylsalicylic acid
(ASA) originating in China.
SEQENS supports open trade and fair competition, provided all market participants operate on a level
playing field. The investigation is an important step toward assessing market conditions and trade
practices through an independent, evidence-based process — one whose outcome it does not prejudge.
ASA is a critical pharmaceutical ingredient used in Aspirin and other essential healthcare applications.
Maintaining a competitive, resilient European manufacturing base for key active pharmaceutical
ingredients has long been a priority for SEQENS, essential to strengthening supply chain security, industrial
resilience, and continued access to critical medicines.
SEQENS will fully cooperate with the European Commission throughout the process and remains
committed to supporting a strong, innovative, and sustainable pharmaceutical manufacturing sector in
Europe.
