These capabilities support the manufacture of specialty chemicals including quaternary ammonium compounds, epoxides, amines, polymers, and esters.

A particular strength of these sites lies in large-scale purification. Advanced distillation systems featuring up to 45 theoretical plates enable the production of highly purified liquid products ranging from hundreds to thousands of tonnes annually. Integrated tanker handling, drumming, and packaging capabilities further enhance operational flexibility and supply security.

Expertise in highly reactive and corrosive materials

For customers facing some of the industry’s most complex chemical challenges, our French sites provide access to specialized expertise and infrastructure.

The Bourgoin and Couterne facilities routinely handle reagents such as chlorine, boron trifluoride, trimethyl phosphite, phosphorus chlorides, phosphorus pentasulfide, hydrogen sulfide, aluminium chloride, thionyl chloride, hydrogen chloride, and carbon dioxide. These materials are essential building blocks for many high-value specialty chemicals but require rigorous controls to ensure safe operation and environmental protection.

To support these processes, the sites are equipped with dedicated scrubbing systems, advanced containment technologies, and specialized treatment solutions including an incineration unit at Couterne. Operating conditions can be maintained across a wide temperature range from -80°C to +200°C, offering exceptional flexibility for sensitive reactions. Specialized materials of construction such as Hastelloy and Uranus alloys further ensure the reliability and durability of equipment exposed to highly corrosive environments.

From laboratory development to commercial scale
