The French Académie des Sciences

Ever since it was created in 1666, the Academy has being resolutely committed to the advancement of science and has advised government authorities in those matters and issues deemed within its remit. It is a double calling that has been reinforced over time, as and when our knowledge-base itself progressed. Today, the Academy’s Members discharge their missions, to the Nation and the Academy’s foundations, in standing committees and working parties set up by the Academy.



In 2017,  as part of its partnership with the Academy, Novacap has awarded Ms. Géraldine Masson, the “NOVACAP” Award.

Géraldine Masson, is director of 2nd class at the CNRS, at the Institute of Chemistry of Natural Substances of Gif-sur-Yvette, on the initiative of new and particularly effective methods in the field of catalysis, mainly organic. Her researches makes it possible to prepare quickly with excellent yields and in a very smoothly way of many polyfunctional molecules.
By her fundamental studies, Géraldine Masson was able to explain the reaction mechanisms involved and extrapolate them to new applications involving hetero-elements.
