The site Seqens Mineral Specialties of La Madeleine in Laneuveville-devant-Nancy has submitted a new application file on April 11th as part of the Biomass Call for Tenders launched by the Commission for Energy Regulation (CRE), so-called CRE 5.3, with the aim of converting part of the energy needed for the site into renewable energy.

The Energy Transition project aims to replace 40% of coal consumption with renewable biomass: waste wood and used railway sleepers, with the aim of not overburdening the natural forest resource.

The project is expected to reduce the site’s CO2 emissions by more than 150,000 tons per year.

Mineral Specialties is confident of its eligibility for this Tender which response will be formalized by mid-2019 for a commissionning of the installation beginning 2022.
